This arrangement was commissioned by the Romantic Revival Orchestra, and was premiered on 28/March/2024, at CBSO Centre (Birmingham), conducted by Leo Jaffrey.

Chopin’s Nocturne in C-sharp Minor, No.20, is one of his most iconic works. This orchestration focuses on the layering of instruments, and dynamic changes in timbre and instrument role. Overall, Strings and Woodwinds dominate the foreground, while brass and timpani accompany. In order to preserve virtuosic moments, different instruments take a soloist role throughout the arrangement.
